Alexander Girard was one of the leading figuresin American design during the postwarera. While textile design was the primaryfocus of Girard’s oeuvre, he was alsoadmired for his work in the graphic artsas well as furniture, exhibition and interiordesign. Girard brought a sensuousplayfulness to twentieth-century design
